Overview

Tour de Earth is a 120 km long-distance ride starting from the Soramichi Highlands in Nagano. It is not a race against the clock. Inside the posted cut-off times you climb the passes one at a time at your own pace — and everything we do is aimed at making that one day a good one.

Course

Once you clear the riverside flats just after the start, the road tilts up gently towards Soramichi Pass Overlook at 1,180 m. Everything up to km 64 is there to be enjoyed. The real ride starts after that, and the last 8 km average 7.2%. The finish is the overlook at the top of the pass — on a clear day you can see every valley you rode through.

Getting There

Getting There

The venue is Soramichi Kogen Sports Park. Because check-in starts at 5:00 in the morning, we recommend staying nearby the night before. If you travel in on the day itself, be ready for cold air on the mountain roads.

By Train

About 2.4 km from JR Soramichi-Kogen Station to the venue. Free shuttle buses run every 15 minutes from 5:00 to 6:00 on race day (bikes accepted in bike bags only).

By Car

About 18 minutes north on Prefectural Route 41 from Soramichi IC on the Chuo Expressway. Set your navigation to “Soramichi Kogen Sports Park”.

Parking

800 spaces across car parks 1 to 3, open from 15:00 the day before. If they fill up, staff will direct you to the overflow car park.
