You ride at your own risk
This is not a closed-road race. It is a long day of riding on public roads, with climbing, descending, weather and traffic. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of the people around you.
Traffic rules
The route uses roads open to normal traffic. You must obey all traffic law, signs, signals and right-of-way rules, and follow the instructions of marshals and police. Ignoring them substantially increases the risk of serious injury and may result in removal from the event.
Health and fitness
By entering you confirm that you have trained for the distance, that you are in a fit state to ride it, and that you have had any medical condition checked where appropriate. Tell us about relevant conditions on the entry form so the medical team can help you if needed.
Liability
The organiser is not liable for ordinary negligence, whether its own or that of its representatives or agents. This exclusion does not apply to injury to life, body or health, or to any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Equipment
Your bicycle must be roadworthy, with working front and rear brakes. A fastened helmet must be worn for the whole ride. The organiser may refuse a rider whose equipment is unsafe.
Photography and video
Photographs, video and audio recorded at the event may be used to report on and promote the event, without payment. Tell us in advance if you do not want to appear in event media.
Circumstances outside our control
Where weather, road conditions, an instruction from the authorities or any other event outside the organiser’s control prevents the event running safely, the organiser is not liable for losses arising from cancellation, postponement or a change of route.
